Unique Fashion Statements Of NBA Superstars

As all superstars around the globe do, many NBA players like to set their own special fashion style when they are given the chance. We have seen many eccentric dressings from various athletes in the league during press conferences, interviews and public appearances over the years. As of lately, those note-worthy looks have become more often and the players that like to impress with their style become more.
We have all seen Dwyane Wade and Russell Westbrook, two of the hottest fantasy basketball players, being dressed with the latest or even prototypical fashion styles. In fact, Westbrook has gone a step further to set a new trend that was later adopted by other players during press conferences. This trend includes tight pants, polo shirts and thick old-style glasses. Russell Westbrook knows how to draw attention both on and off the courts of the NBA. That’s why he chooses to use his eccentric style almost every time he is about to be present at a public event. During the previous year’s playoffs, Westbrook made some significant appearances during the press conferences after each game. His style and his clothes selections can’t be easily judged as nice or bad. However, they can certainly be characterized as innovative.

There are of course many other players around the league who choose to go with more classic outfits, like suits. LeBron James is one of them. The King usually arrives at the arena dressed in a suit, most of the times avoiding vivid colors or fancy patterns. Wade and Chris Paul also love suits, but they have appeared many times with eye-catching choices, like red or tropical-themed clothes.

Several NBA players get called from clothes companies to advertise their products. Of course, their prestige and their resonance they have to the crowd always help in such promoting efforts. But it’s their style that also assists that way, since many of them set new trends and new dressing styles, with the fans following them.
The discussion about the dressing style of the NBA stars can be really endless, as players give feed almost daily during the regular season and the playoffs. Hats, suits, leather jackets, tuxedos and other accessories are just a few of the significant items players use in their public appearances. Of course, the entire NBA world follows this trend. We’ve seen many reporters wearing vivid suits, with Craig Sager arguably the most notable example. Many other analysts –several of who are former NBA players- make notable appearances.

The certain thing is that thanks to the media attention and the love from the fans, the NBA players have the power to set trends. They also have the freedom and the ability to experiment with their looks, many times reaching an excessive point. Judging from the increase in significant appearances, we should expect more fashion-statement appearances from many players around the league. In a way, this sets a new interest for the reporters and the fans to talk about. But in general, the NBA, as any other thing in the world that draws the attention from such crowds and the media will always be a fashion-setter.
